How We Vet Brands: Our Lab-Tested Kratom Checklist
We only sell lab-tested kratom, and every brand clears the same checklist first.
Here’s exactly what Kratom Folk asks for. It’s also what we refuse.
Step 1: The Brand Itself
- Known maker. We buy direct or through the brand’s authorized distributor.
- Manufacturing standards. We ask for GMP certification or an AKA GMP audit.
- US contact. The brand must also name a business we can reach about recalls.
- Clean record. Then we check FDA warning letters and state actions first.
Step 2: Lab-Tested Kratom, Batch by Batch
A single test for one batch isn’t enough. Instead, every batch we receive needs its own certificate of analysis.
- Tested by an independent, accredited lab, not the brand’s own lab.
- Alkaloids measured, including 7-OH content per unit.
- Heavy metals and microbes within limits.
- Screened for pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16.
Then we post every report to our lab results library.
Step 3: The Label
A clear label lets you compare products fairly. So we check each one before we list it.
- Alkaloid content per serving and per package.
- A lot number that matches the COA.
- Serving count, net weight and the maker’s details.
- No health, disease or treatment claims.
Step 4: The Law
Next, we check the product against federal and state rules. We repeat this every month, too.
When a state bans or caps a product, checkout blocks it there. See our state-by-state guide.
What We Refuse to Sell
- Pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 or MGM-16 products, all Schedule I since 26 Aug 2026.
- Products that won’t disclose their actives.
- Any batch without a current, matching COA.
- Products marketed with medical claims.
- Vapes and candy-style kratom products that several states ban.
Why Lab-Tested Kratom Matters
Kratom isn’t FDA-approved, so the label is all you get. Testing is the only way to check it.
That’s why lab-tested kratom is the only kind we stock. If a brand can’t prove it, we don’t sell it.
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Kratom products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Sold only to adults 21 and over where lawful. See our FDA disclaimer.
